A blood cancer diagnosis stopped Siah’s family in its tracks.
Your support brought them closer.
At just 12 years old, Siah was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia, a type of blood cancer.
Overcome with fear and disbelief, the regional family left everything familiar behind as they relocated to Brisbane for Siah’s life-saving treatment.
For Siah, having family close during treatment wasn’t a luxury – it was essential for her mental health and her recovery.
It meant that she could lean on her mum during the hardest moments, when pain made it impossble to walk to the bathroom alone. On the good days, she was surrounded by the people she loved most in the world. Through it all, she inspired her family with her remarkable courage and unwavering positive mindset.
You can help keep families like Siah's together as they face blood cancer treatment. Your donation this Christmas will help provide vital accommodation and life-changing specialised support - ensuring care is close when it matters most.
"Our whole family is overwhelmingly grateful for that support and for the people who donated to make it possible. There are no other words I can say but thank you.”- Siah’s mum, Ellen.
Last year, generous supporters like you helped provide:
Your support can give families like Siah’s a place to stay close to the life-saving blood cancer treatment they need.
Instead of opening presents under the tree, families facing blood cancer will be reaching out to the Leukaemia Foundation in urgent need of support.
